COMMENTARY FROM MARION ROUSSE

Heading along the Route Napoléon, the longest stage of this edition will pass historical (in Sisteron, Entrevaux, etc.) and natural treasures (the Durance and Verdon valleys, Lake Castillon, etc.). Following the course of the River Var, the descent into Nice will be interrupted by two hills approaching Saint-Isidore, then by a short wall (which ramps up to 13.6%) in the city centre, 6km from the finish. These could provide an opportunity to prevent a bunch sprint deciding the spoils on the Promenade des Anglais, next to the Centenary Monument.
