Featuring 2,400 metres of vertical gain and the climb of the Col de la Faucille (11.4km at 6.3%) right from the start, the action on this stage in the Jura will kick off very quickly. The breakaway riders will find this a great opportunity to show what they’re made of, with the route punctuated by the Col de la Savine (5.6km at 5.1%) when leaving Morbier and then by the Côte de Chaux-Champagny (1.8km at 6.4%), 25km from the finish. It remains to be seen whether a breakaway will survive until the finish, which is exactly the same as the one used for stage 19 of the 2023 Tour de France.
