Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx-Protime) won the opening stage of the 2026 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, claiming the Yellow Jersey and the lead of the Points classification along the way.
"I almost cannot believe it. SD Worx-Protime worked super hard today, even Anna [van der Breggen] came to the front with one kilometre to go and then Demi attacked. I was like ‘I need to follow’. And then it was a long sprint, but I’m super happy with this."
"I expected there would be some attacks. After the first attack from [Célia] Gery, I still felt good. And then I was thinking it was just 1 kilometre to go, I needed to hold on, I couldn’t drop anymore. I was a bit blocked because EF started on the right side, but then I found a way. It was a bit early but I thought: ‘I need to go now!’"
