Created in 2017, the Italian team has produced two of the greatest Italian stars in cycling today, Elisa Balsamo and Marta Cavalli. The former was still with the team when she won the world championship at Leuven a few weeks before joining Trek-Segafredo. The latter made a name for herself in 2018 by winning the Italian title at 20 years of age and is now a member of FDJ-Suez-Futuroscope.
Despite its status as a second-division team, this squad has finished the last four seasons in the world top 12. It is coming off a remarkably successful Giro. Silvia Persico finished 7th overall and Chiara Consonni, the younger sister of Cofidis rider Simone Consonni, won the 10th and final stage in a sprint finish.
