The history

Launched in 2011 by Mario Cipollini under the name of his bicycle brand (Mcipollini) and the textile manufacturer Giordana, the Italian team merged with the Slovenian outfit BTC City Ljubljana in 2019 before being acquired by the UAE Team Emirates men's WorldTour team in 2022. Ranked among the world's top ten teams since its inception, the Emirati team has undergone sweeping changes over the past three years, with the notable departure of Mavi García.

Determined to add the Yellow Jersey of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift to those conquered by Tadej Pogačar in the men's race, the team strengthened its Italian connection with the signing of Elisa Longo Borghini, sixth in the 2022 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift and a two-time winner of the Giro (2024 and 2025). The campionissima can count on her compatriots Silvia Persico and Chiara Consonni, as well as Maëva Squiban and Dominika Włodarczyk, who helped to make 2025 UAE Team ADQ's most successful summer campaign to date (with two stage wins by the Frenchwoman and fourth place overall for Włodarczyk). Paula Blasi, who has already started to convert her insane potential into actual victories, is also eager to push the envelope in a race as gruelling as the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.

A FIGURE

20. Paula Blasi's Volta a Catalunya triumph on 21 June was UAE Team ADQ's 20th win in 2026. The Emirati outfit had already reached this tally once before, in 2025, when it hit this score thanks to Maëva Squiban's twin victories in the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift and went on to claim another eight before the end of the season, bringing the total to 28.
