The history

Launched in 2011 by Mario Cipollini under the name of his bicycle brand (Mcipollini) and the textile manufacturer Giordana, the Italian team merged with the Slovenian team BTC City Ljubljana in 2019 before being acquired by the UAE Team Emirates men's WorldTour team in 2022. The Emirati squad, among the top ten teams in the world since its debut, has undergone a sea change over the last two seasons.

Only five of the fifteen riders who made up its roster in 2022 are still on board, with Mavi García (tenth in the Tour at the time) as one of the major departures. The Italians Silvia Persico (sixth in the 2022 Tour and winner of the Brabantse Pijl last year) and Chiara Consonni were recruited to bolster the team. They joined the squad in 2023 from Valcar–Travel & Service —as did the team manager, Davide Arzeni—, which became UAE Team ADQ's feeder team this season.
