The history
Launched in 2011 by Mario Cipollini under the name of his bicycle brand (Mcipollini) and textile manufacturer Giordana, the Italian team merged with Slovenian squad BTC City Ljubljana in 2019 before being acquired in 2022 by the UAE Emirates men's WorldTour team. Ranked among the world's top ten teams since its inception, the Emirati team has undergone sweeping changes over the past three years, with the notable departure of Mavi Garcia. Italians Silvia Persico (6th in the 2022 Tour, winner of last year's Flèche Brabançonne) and Chiara Consonni have joined the team. So has Elisa Longo Borghini, sixth in the 2022 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift and winner of her first Giro last year.

9. The number of top 10 finishes for Silvia Persico in the 2022 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. The Italian, who was riding for Valcar-Travel & Service at the time, finished six stages in the top seven (2nd, 4th, 7th, 7th, 6th, and 3rd), finishing 5th overall, 4th in the points classification, and 9th in the mountain classification!
