The history
Plantur-Pura is the second division team of Alpecin-Fenix, launched in May 2020. The Belgian team is the biggest squad in the women's professional peloton (22 riders). It is composed of road and cyclo-cross specialists, allowing the blue and pink jersey to be worn throughout the 12 months of the year.
It is especially strong in cyclo-cross, with world champions Sanne Cant (2017 to 2019) and Ceylin Alvarado (2020), and on the track with German Laura Süßemilch, world champion in the team pursuit. On the road, Dutch rider Yara Kastelijn has had a successful spring, finishing 9th in the Flèche Wallonne, 13th in the Amstel Gold Race and 15th in the Strade Bianche.

72. The rank of the best Plantur-Pura rider, Christina Schweinberger (Austrian time trial and road race champion), in the UCI ranking on 5 July. Yara Kastelijn is also in the top 100 (93rd).
