The history

Lidl–Trek, an Italian-American outfit backed by a grocery shop chain and a bicycle manufacturer, shares everything with its male counterpart (staff, equipment, and jerseys), bringing the male and female teams under one roof, despite the men's squad being created almost a decade earlier (2011 versus 2019). It has competed at the highest level since its inception, ranking fifth in the UCI rankings in its debut season and securing first place in 2020, driven by Elizabeth Deignan, Elisa Longo-Borghini, and Ellen van Dijk, who remain integral to the team.

The former world champion Elisa Balsamo strengthened the squad in 2022, while the emergence of Gaia Realini has made the team competitive in high mountain stages as well. Known for their seamless teamwork, Lidl–Trek's collective strength has enabled them to challenge teams like SD Worx, leading to Elisa Longo Borghini's victory in the recent Tour of Flanders.
