From the centre of Nevers, the peloton will cross the Loire and initially face a route without any significant difficulties. However, the profile of the finale looks a lot more testing. The action could kick off as early as the Côte du Point du Jour (2.1km at 8.6%), a climb designed to produce an initial selection. A 12km descent will then lead into the foot of the final ascent to La Loge des Gardes (6.7km at 7.1%), where the initial pecking order for the overall title should be established.
