In hosting the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, Rotterdam is confirming its status as a hotbed for cycling. The hometown of 2017 world champion Chantal Blaak even has its own professional continental team (Delta Cycling Rotterdam) and its own women’s race, the Rotterdam Tour. Every Dutch race has stopped in the city, the Dutch championships have been held here several times and its Six-Day race is still a major draw in the winter. Prior to hosting the race’s prologue in 2010, Rotterdam had already seen a Tour de France stage finish in 1973, when Belgian Willy Teirlinck was the victor.
