The Vaucluse department will host the Étape du Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift cyclosportive on Thursday 6 August, starting from Vaison-la-Romaine, followed on Friday 7 August by Stage 7 of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. On both days, the finish will take place at the summit of Mont Ventoux.
While an extensive safety and emergency response operation will be deployed over both days in coordination with the event organiser, Amaury Sport Organisation, the Prefect has decided, due to the sensitivity of the area and the wildfire risk, to prohibit public access to the Dentelles de Montmirail massif. Only access to the Paty exemption area will be permitted.
No spectators or hikers will be allowed:
- Inside the Dentelles de Montmirail massif, including the section located between the municipalities of Caromb, Crillon-le-Brave and Bédoin. Pedestrian access along Departmental Road (RD) 19 will remain permitted.
- Along Departmental Road (RD) 90, which will be used by the riders, from the exit of the village of Suzette (end of built-up area sign) to the descent from the Col de la Chaîne in the municipality of Malaucène.
Everyone is reminded that, under all circumstances, extreme caution must be exercised in forest areas that remain open to the public.
The following rules must be strictly observed:
- No smoking.
- No lighting of fires.
- No driving or parking, even temporarily, on DFCI forest access tracks, which are reserved for emergency services
- In the event of a wildfire, call 18 or 112, clearly state your location and move away from the affected area.
