Stage 6
133| Puck PIETERSE
Pieterse: “I hope I’ll have same legs as Wednesday”
Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Deceuninck): "Yes, I lost the polka dot jersey but I feel quite good actually. There was a breakaway, so then I couldn't defend the polka dot jersey. But tomorrow there will be bigger climbs so maybe I will take it back. The main focus is the white jersey and the GC. I don't know myself how good I can be on the long climbs. But I hope I’ll have same legs as Wednesday [when she won the 3rd stage].”

61| Marianne VOS
Vos: “I struggled quite a bit”
Marianne Vos (Team Visma | Lease a Bike): “I don’t know if there were many images of me struggling and trying to fight back, but I struggled quite a bit. It’s a hard week definitely. Already the first three flat stages were very fast and you have to be attentive. Today I had a teammate with me in the break and I want to take points for the green jersey and we did that, then I was just trying to survive until the finish. From the first Tour [2022] I have those good memories and now it is another tough weekend coming up. Firstly we recover a bit from today...

11| Katarzyna NIEWIADOMA
Niewiadoma: “There was a little testing between us”
Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon//SRAM Racing): “Today I feel like the whole peloton is already focussing on the last two stages because they are the most crucial ones and the hardest ones. Today it was more like a breakaway day but getting into the final with all the climbs at the end and Puck [Pieterse] going for the mountain points I felt like there was a little testing between us. At some point Puck and Demi [Vollering] were kind of breaking away from the peloton but none of us quite committed to putting the hammer down. She [Cédrine Kerbaol] is a super talented...

41| Justine GHEKIERE
Ghekiere: “I went so deep I saw stars!”
Justine Ghekiere (AG Insurance - Soudal Team): “I thought “it will be a really hard day” and my legs are so empty after yesterday which was very hard. So I said I will try for the points but I don’t know. In the beginning I felt really good, so I thought, “just go for it”. I was in the good attacks and I could get some good points. Then on the climb when Fisher-Black attacked I knew I had to go all in to get the points there because then maybe I’d have the jersey. I went so deep I saw stars! But I’m really happy that I have...
Stage 6
91| Cedrine KERBAOL
Kerbaol: “I have never won such a big race”
Cedrine Kerbaol (Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling Team): “I've been itching a little for 2 or 3 days, I've been wanting to go for it! Then there you have it, I felt really good on the climbs, my teammates always helped me to position myself and put me in the best possible place. I had to be patient on the last climb because I often tend to attack a little too early and get counter-attacked. There were a few attacks, then a little moment on the flat and that's where I went for it. I know that I can make the difference in the descents compared to certain riders. I saw straight...
Stage 5
26| Charlotte KOOL
Kool: “I'm really going to fight”
Charlotte Kool (dsm-firmenich PostNL): “Today it was one of my worst days on a bike. Maybe the first two days kicked in a bit today. In the end, I tried everything and I also knew it would be difficult because it was the whole day up and down. But I still sit here in a green jersey. I will try to keep it until Alpe d'Huez and I think it will be a real battle. I'm really going to fight.”
Stage 5
52| Loes ADEGEEST
Adegeest: "I had to play it a bit smart"
Loes Adegeest (FDJ-Suez): “It was a hard stage with attacks from the start. I tried to be in the break from the start. Already a few [riders] went solo and no-one joined. With 80km to go I went solo again after the QOM and I kept a good pace, because I thought, " well you’re almost half way and maybe there is a better chance now.” Luckily two riders joined me and we worked well together. But I could feel that I had already done quite a lot so I had to play it a bit smart. Luckily they went on the outside of the roundabout in the last 5km and that was the...
Stage 5
133| Puck PIETERSE
Pieterse: “It was just a big crash”
Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Deceuninck): “The whole day was quite hectic actually. We tried to be in the break but it didn’t work and they kept attacking, especially at the beginning. I was quite surprised that everyone mostly stayed upright in the beginning, I didn’t see any crashes actually. We came quite fast into the final. With 10km to go I tried to set the tempo to catch the leaders and maybe finish it off on the finish climb but there was a roundabout that had a really tight corner afterwards and I think nobody really expected it. It was just a big crash....
Stage 5
6| Blanka VAS
Vas: “I have mixed feelings”
Blanka Vas (Team SD Worx – Protime): "It's crazy, I still can't believe it. I don't know what to say! I really didn't expect this today because I felt so bad during the race. Anna [Van der Breggen] said to me "believe in yourself" and then it helped me a lot. My radio was not working so I didn't know what happened in the back but Demi crashed and lost Yellow so it's a shame. Now, I have mixed feelings. I was just in Mischa's [Bredewold] wheel so I was in 2nd position. I did not hear anything so I don't know what happened. In the final, I didn't want to make the same...
Stage 5
11| Katarzyna NIEWIADOMA
Niewiadoma: “We just had to stay in the front”
Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon//SRAM Racing): “It feels very special for sure. I just learned about getting the Yellow Jersey a couple of minutes ago so I feel like it [the emotion] hasn’t fully reached me. But we are happy, happy for my teammates, for everyone who has put in hard work and effort to get us into this jersey, so we’re definitely happy about it. Today’s stage was very chaotic in general. I feel like all the stages so far were very hectic so we knew that we just had to stay in the front. We’ve never done a recon like today’s stage...
